The Spy Who Loved School Dinners is a book that is apart of a wider collection of stories written by Pamela Butchart who was a winner of the Blue Peter Best Story Award is a comical set of books that encourage imaginative thinkers as they explore humours concepts such as having a spy in school or that the headteacher is a vampire rat or even aliens in the school. 

The books have a large font and helpful illustrations that help show you what is going on. 

The age range for these books would be geared towards 6 - 10 year-olds due to their simplicity and imaginative style. 

However, older children may criticise the books for being too short and possibly wishing they had maybe a short spin off series.
